Become a Chief Digital Officer

Digital Transformation is hard.

But we can help you.

Digital Transformation is a complex matter that covers many aspects. It requires various skills, and a strong buy-in from your stakeholders in the company. In order to lead the transformation you will need broad insights in disruptive business models, the market, new challengers and the overall impact of technology.

Because of this complexity, it is difficult to run digital transformation from a traditional vertical approach, with ownership within a traditional division/silo. In order to be successful, you will need a transversal approach that includes many people and breaks down silos throughout the organization.

This is the role of the CDO, the Chief Digital Officer and the Digital Office. Many companies create this new senior position as a pivot between old and new, bridging silos, making the future happen.

In this program, Jo Caudron and Dado Van Peteghem will train and coach you in a pragmatic way to be able to transform your own company as Chief Digital Officer, while keeping in mind your business reality of today.

  1. Understand the transversal aspects of digital transformation

We will show you all the aspects of Digital Transformation: what it is, what you can learn from other industries, where we are today, why it is so important, what it means for your company, what to expect and much more.

  1. Determine the impact of digital disruption on your organization

Digital is disruptive, but how disruptive exactly for your own business? We will show you how to measure the impact of digital disruption on your organization. We’ll be making use of the impact scorecard and show you a hands-on impact analysis for several industry cases.

A transformation is nowhere without the right people. We’ll discuss what you need in terms of culture and internal capabilities.
In the bootcamp part we will actually work on the scorecard to try to understand how much our 2 fictional companies are impacted by change.

Measure digital disruption
  1. Create a future vision of your industry and organization

With the speed of change, the unprecedented rate of innovation and the rise of challengers in every niche, product or service, predicting the future is impossible. Yet you can create a strong north star vision that you believe your company should pursue in order to stay successful.
We learn you how to use the method of scenario planning to create several future scenarios and how to work towards the most favorable one for you. We show examples of different industries and create our own north star vision for our bootcamp companies.

Future Scenarios
  1. Dive into the future

One session of the 9 weeks course will help you dive into the future: we will visit an innovation lab to discover and test different new & upcoming technologies like Virtual Reality, Internet of Things, 3D-printing, …

  1. Determine your own Digital Transformation Strategy, with a focus on mission, people, process, platforms and a clear roadmap

Once you know the future vision you want to work towards, we will show you how to determine your strategy (mission, models, …) and what changes this will require in terms of your people, processes and platforms.
In our bootcamp part we develop our own strategic framework for our 2 fictional companies, making it very concrete.
People Process Platform
  1. Execute and implement your roadmap through a Digital Agenda

This session will teach you how to execute your Digital Transformation strategy. We make the distinction between working on a digital foundation for the company and building business model innovations on top of this foundation.
We work on our problem-transformation method that will allow you not to start from great ideas but from actual problems and pain points of the market. This will lead to relevant solutions that we could build as part of our digital agenda. The session includes how to prioritize projects in order to create a clear and realistic Digital Agenda for the whole organization.
In the bootcamp session we define the problems our 2 fictional companies can help solve with innovative solutions, laying the groundwork of our market-propositions and go-to-market.
Transformation funnel
  1. Grow digital capabilities throughout the organization and create digital governance

We will thoroughly discuss the role of the Chief Digital Offer and the different roles of the digital office. What will be expected of the CDO and her/his team? Who should support her/him, how is this role part of the broader structure of the company? How can this work in a global company?
Besides talking about roles, we also deal with the activities owned by the digital office and how digital governance models can work in both simple and complex organizations.
  1. a. Become a data-driven business and use data as the fuel for your businessIn this session guest speaker Alain Glickman will talk about the importance of data to become a company of the future.
